The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens offers 40 hectares of beautifully maintained gardens for visitors to enjoy. Established in 1936, the Gardens began as a school for apprentice gardeners. Its talented students have immaculately maintained the grounds, making this one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Canada . Visitors are welcome to take self-guided tours of the grounds which include the herb garden, vegetable garden, rock garden and the exquisite rose gardens, which are made up of over 2,300 rose bushes in formal beds. Be sure to visit the large arboretum which houses the gardens impressive ornamental trees and shrub collections. Entrance to the Gardens is free; however there is an entrance fee to the Butterfly Conservatory on the premises.
